I missed today’s studio class as I was out of station. I got to know that everybody worked on the 3D model which comes under the who am I project. We have to combine all ten models and make it into one which would describe us in the best way possible.
Also, our teacher told that we should know as to why did we use a particular shape or an idea to form the 3D model in detail.

I missed today’s seminar class as I was out of station. I got to know that Metamorphosis was continued in today’s class. Our teacher discussed chapter three and we got to know the three stages of this book. In chapter one, there is more emphasis on Gregor’s life; chapter two, Kafka talks about different reactions of different family members towards Gregor and chapter three, he talks more about his family and less emphasis is given on Gregor.
Also, our teacher gave inputs on the who am I project to make it better and she has asked us to work on the second draft using metaphors.

In today’s class, we had to take any composition or a picture and sketch it down. We had to then trace it on a tracing paper twice. In another one, we had to use three different shapes and depict the picture we had drawn to get an abstract form.
Soon after that, we had to fill in three different colors in those shapes. I got a complete abstract form of that particular picture after filling in the colors. Our teacher will further guide us in our next class.
It was really fun and interesting to see how my sketch changed into an abstract form just by using different shapes and colors.

In today’s elective, our teacher taught us the history of shirt as to how in the past there were different kinds of shirts and only men could wear them but now a days even women are free to wear shirts. He told us that the shirts before had detachable collars as to keep the collars clean.
He then introduced us to the parts of a shirt, like: collar, placket, cuff, yoke, tail, darts etc. After having the whole discussion about the shirt and learning about each and every part, our teacher cut a piece of cloth to get the shape of a shirt. He cut the sleeves and collar part of the shirt.
In the next class, we will learn how to stitch a shirt and we are supposed to get the materials listed to stitch our own shirts. Today’s elective was really interesting and fun to learn.

Today’s management through movies elective started of with an introduction session. Our teacher introduced herself followed up by the students. Soon after the introduction session, our teacher told us how the class is going to be like and what are we actually going to be doing in this elective.
We were then asked to write down our positive and negative points on a piece of paper and also what are we expecting from this elective and how could we apply this in our own field. The movie “Lagaan” was then projected and few clips were cut and put together. The movie was of 20 minutes. We then discussed about the managerial skills that Amir Khan possessed in the movie and how he put up the teamwork to get the best outcome.
We learned that in any field, we need to coordinate, carry out the leadership, take right decisions, give everyone a chance and believe in others rather than demotivating them. I really enjoyed today’s elective as it was really interesting to learn through movies.

In today’s class we worked on our assignments. We designed a logo with the help of pen tool and changed its color and strokes. I worked with the logo of windows and google. Initially, I was not able to get the proper curves but later I explored and could get the curves done in an accurate manner.
Also, I started working on the five elements on photo shop. For now, I am still trying to figure out as to how it is supposed to be done and so I am exploring more of the photo shop tools.
For our next class, we need to get our two assignments ready. In today’s class, I learned how to change the colors and strokes of the logo and how can we make it look different by various methods.

In our previous studio class, we had to sketch 2D models on the metaphors we listed down. Our assignment for this class was to get the 3D models ready. Our teacher then asked us to discuss about each other’s models and give suggestions to improve them. In the first half, we finished and finalized our 3D models.
In the second half, we were supposed to bring all the ten models together and make it into one single model which would describe ourselves the best. I tried many shapes and forms and I am still on the process of completing it.
Our assignment for the next class is to get the model ready which can be improved later too. I really find this project on who am I very interesting as a whole model which truly describes us is something very different and exciting.

In today’s class, we continued with our Metamorphosis book. We discussed about how by second chapter, everyone gets used to the fact that Gregor has turned into a bug. Every one put across their own points which helped me to understand the chapter better. Also, our teacher discussed about what other characters (i.e father, mother and sister) feel at the point of time.
Kafka brings out absurdity of life very well through this chapter. The symbols that we come across in this chapter are: food, painting, bed/furniture, gas lights, door and uniform of the father. Our teacher then discussed about the Chicago Manual of Style. We learned as to how we are supposed to be doing citations of books and journal articles which are in print medium.
Our assignment for the next class is to write the citations (i.e note and bibliography) for two books, two journal articles and two multiple author books. I found today’s class really interesting as the discussion on the second chapter provided a lot of knowledge. Also, I learned a new way of citation which is Chicago Manual of Style.

In today’s drawing class, our teacher checked our assignment which was given in the previous class. The assignment was to finish five doodling sketches. She gave her remarks and told us the areas where we should concentrate more and should improve in. Human Anatomy was the topic for today’s class. We learned that a human figure is made up of seven and a half heads. Also, the shoulder is equal to one head on both the sides.
We were then asked to sketch out models in correct human proportion considering human anatomy in mind. One person had to become a model from the group and the others had to sketch the figure. Initially, it was difficult for me to get the correct proportion but slowly I could do better.
In the second half of the class, we were asked to depict night and day scenery through shading of light and dark. Our teacher then improved our work whenever we went wrong. Our assignment for today is to make three-day and night sketches and get for the next class. Today’s class gave me an opportunity to learn a new thing which is depicting of night and day scene through shading of light and dark.

Today’s class started of with displaying our material board on which we stuck different kinds of Linear, Planar and Granular things. Everyone gave an introduction to their materials and told where it could be used. Having finished that, our teacher asked us to take a round of the corridor and figure out different types of materials. We then discussed about those materials and which category it falls under in the classroom.
Today’s class assignment was all about grip. As in, whatever object we hold is a grip. For example, holding a bag or holding a pencil is a grip. We had to then list out ten types of grips and sketch out the hand gesture while holding that particular object. I faced a lot of difficulty in getting the correct proportion of the hand initially but then could manage to get a proper gesture.
For our next class, we need to keep our material journal, coasters and hand gesture assignment ready on which we will be marked upon. For our hand gesture assignment, we need to draw one gesture in different angles to get a better understanding and image.
I learned a lot in today’s class. I could understand the types of materials in a better way and sketching out the hand gestures was a great and a fun task to do.
