In today’s class, we had to do five sketches each along with our partners for this project. We were supposed to sketch the ways in which two human force comes into contact. For example, defending a player from throwing ball in the basket or two girls dancing taking each other’s support etc.

We also have to choose our variables and sketch them out to prevent the interaction. Both of the force should have a variable. I still have to choose and work on my variables.

It’s an interesting project and because it’s a pair project, it is fun to work on. Also, we learned about new things like variable and non variable objects. For the next class, we need to finish our all the ten sketches.

We got a new faculty for the imaging class. He explained us everything step by step. We were explained each and every tool on the illustrator and Photoshop. Our teacher projected and showed what a tool can do and what are its uses. We were simultaneously doing what he was teaching on our screen to get a better understanding.

Further, he also explained us the difference between illustrator and photoshop. In the second half, he gave us three options to work on. Design a logo, Digitise a figure or digitise a landscape. I choosed to degitise a figure and started working on it.

Today’s class was really effective and I learned so much in just one class. It was interesting to learn and I understood all the tools properly in this class.

In today’s class, our teacher checked our previous assignment and gave her inputs and suggestions to improve on it. We were asked to visit the same market place today also and this time we has to use all five senses which are touch, smell, hear, sight and taste.

We divided the topics among the group members to make our work more efficient. I got touch. We visited Dharavi market place again today and this time we did not only visit the shops but also we went inside to see how the leather is made. We found the area really dirty and had a foul smell. We managed to get few pictures and grab information in detail for our project. We spent nearly two hours to look around and get the best information we can. For my topic which is touch, I touched various types of leathers and grabbed information from the shopkeeper on different leathers.

The project so far is really fun. Going out and exploring market places is something we all are interested in and through this we collected a lot of information and gained knowledge. After this, we know so much about leather and want to explore more and more to make our project informative.

In today’s seminar class, our teacher wrote all the keywords given in the first class on the board and connected all of it to this project. She then spoke about various cities and asked us to choose a city and write an essay of 350 words. It has to based on our own imagination and experience. Also, at the same time it should have a creative title.

She asked people to describe the cities they have chosen and talk about it on the basis of their own experience. The whole objective of this project is to know more and more about the city we have chosen and pen down about it. Different people might have different views about the same place which would build on our creativity and ideas.

She then introduced us to various books on different cities. The three books were on Madras, Bangalore and Patna. I was asked to describe the city Patna as I belong to that place. Our teacher then talked about few other places and shared her experience with people or the place she had visited.

It was really interesting to know how different people think about same city in different ways. It gave us a lot of ideas and information on different places. For the next class, we have to get an essay of 350 words using a narrative style.

I could not make it to today’s class as I was unwell. I got to know from my peers that our teacher checked our work from the very start and had graded us on all our assignments.

This was the end of one topic or one project and from week 10th we would be starting with a new topic all together which is  story sketch.

In today’s class, we were introduced to idea of space and materiality based on their lived, embedded experiences. Our teacher talked about various materials which are variables and those which are not.

She then projected various variable models made by different artists. We were asked to think about various ways in which a particular displayed model could be interpreted. Each one of us had different interpretations.

We were then asked to list down the ways in which human body interacts. For example, shaking hands or pulling cheeks. It is a very different topic to work on and I am very excited to continue a project on this topic. Initially I was not able to understand what actually has to be done in this project but then slowly I could figure out as our teacher went step by step. Today’s class was really informative.

In today’s class, we were assigned our groups and the place that we need to visit in Bombay. My group was given leather market. We had three hours to explore the place and click pictures. We were supposed to sketch down 15 drawings all together in birds view, top view and ant view.

We took pictures of whatever interesting and attractive things we found in the market. It was really fun to explore the market. Today’s class was fun and was all about exploring. I learned about leather. The shopkeeper gave us few information and ideas on leather and all of them explained with a lot of interest. We grabbed a lot of knowledge also through today’s task.

In today’s class, our teacher discussed about cities. She told us that everyone has a different perspective of a particular city which maybe according to their own ideas, memories or interest. We discussed about few cities in particular and also had a discussion over how people compare Bombay and Delhi on the basis of safety all the time. She also shared few of her experiences and stories with us. She told us that she has a whole perspective about New York based on a particular book which she has read and looks upon that city keeping the book in mind.

We were also asked to pair up in two and choose a particular city and pen down the points or what picture does that city bring to our mind. We were then asked to present in front of the class and discuss about it.

Every one shared their own ideas and views about a particular city which made us know better about the city and it was really fun to discuss about different corners of the world.

In today’s class, we were introduced to abstract drawing. We were asked to have a look at the artworks by Raza, Piet Mondrian and Kandinsky on the internet. I saw their various abstract work and learned that the way they have expressed through their artwork is incredible.

We were then asked to make an abstract drawing of the four elements which are: air, water, earth and fire. We had to make separate abstract drawing for these and then make a composition out of all the four elements in the abstract form which is our assignment for today.

It was fun doing abstract drawing. I think sketching whatever we like and however we want is the best way to express ourselves.

In today’s class, our teacher reviewed our work. She had asked us to make a storyboard explaining the model from the initial stage to the final stage along with the pictures. So in the first half of the class we worked on the storyboard.

In the second half, our teacher marked us on our final project. She checked our documentation, storyboard, model, abstract drawings and technical drawings.

I could manage to finish all my work before today’s class. It was really a fun project to do as we explored a lot and also we learned the uses of different materials. Working on the abstraction of hand was something really different to do and the process work helped us make our final work a lot more better.
