I couldn’t make it for today’s class as I was not feeling well. I learned from my friends that the discussion was based on our on going project which is market places.

I couldn’t make it for today’s class as I have been quite unwell. I got to know from my friends that they worked on the storyboard and thumbnails in today’s class.

I am almost done with the outline of my storyboard and need to a final touch before we start with our final storyboard.

In today’s class, our teacher checked our sketches of the human interactions and gave her feedback. We decided the wearable to avoid the human interaction and finalized with our teacher. It is pair project. As soon as she approved our idea, we started working on our prototypes. We were supposed to make three prototypes.

We used File card paper for the prototypes and we have almost finished them. We need to get one of them approved by our teacher in the next class so that we can work on our final model.

I am excited to work our final model as it is going to be amazing to wear something that I have made for the first time. I have to explore and choose the best suited material for my final model.

In today’s imaging class, our teacher asked us to finish our storyboard and start digitizing. Since I had not finished my storyboard and thumbnails, I was working on it. I decided the characters best suited for my story and designed them accordingly and then I made a rough draft of the storyboard to get an idea and finally did a fair work. My story is based on Mumbai traffic and time and there are two characters in my story.

Meanwhile, our teacher gave us few instructions as to what we are supposed to to during our holidays for the fifteenth week review. We are given deadlines for certain work and are supposed to meet them before our college resumes. We need to be done with the digitization of the storyboard by the end of the vacation.

I have almost completed my storyboard and I need to start working on digitization. This project is really interesting as designing our own characters helps us to bring out our own creativity in a better manner along with the story line and digitization of story would help us to explore the various tools of Illustrator and Photoshop in a better way and we would understand better.

In today’s class, our teacher marked us on the sketches and the mapping that we had done in the previous class. She discussed about the market and how the models could be like with every group.

We were then asked us to sit in our groups and discuss for the model of the market. It could be in an abstract or real form. We had to draw a rough sketch of the model and finalize with our teacher.

For the next class, we are supposed to get materials for our models and start working on it. We have decided to make a cart showing society imbalance using the Dharavi market scenes. I am really excited to come up with a model as its going to be something very interesting to work on.

I couldn’t attend today’s class due to some health issue. I got to know from my friends that they worked on designing their characters from each angle and worked on their thumbnails.

We are supposed to finish our rough draft of the comic strip and come for the next class. I have almost finished my comic strip and need to finalize it.

In today’s class, our teacher asked us to form a group of three. We had to review eachother’s essay on our respective cities. We formed a group of three and reviewed eachother’s essay. We had to write down comments and mark out 20. It was based on creativity, experience, grammar and how appropriate the title was. We gave feedback to eachother in the presence of our teacher. She marked us on the basis of how well we could review the work and gave us her feedback which would help us improve our essay.

We were then asked to make changes in our essay if required and improve it as per the requirement as our assignment for next class. We learned how to review other’s work and got to know that how well are we aware about the requirements, the grammar and punctuation mistakes. It helped us as well as others to find out their mistakes.

In today’s class, our group discussed with our teacher about what ever we had researched on. We told her about the senses we got and what we found under it. She gave us her inputs which would help us further in the project.

We were then asked to do mapping of the market based on the senses we were given. I was given touch. I mapped out the Dharavi market in my own way and used colors to show the texture of different leathers. I highlighted the raw leather texture first, then the sample leather and finally the finished product. I tried my best to give the feel of touch to the leathers using color pencils.

Our teacher has asked us to finish all the sketches and mapping and come for the next class. Mapping the market in whatever way we want was really fun and since the shopkeepers gave us a lot information on different leathers and where they come from, I could map out well.

In today’s drawing class, our teacher explained us the comic strip. She discussed about the characters and how they should look like according to the story. She also discussed about the dialogue box in the comic strip.

In the second half while our teacher was grading us on our documentation and blogs, we were asked to research and get ideas for our comic strip. We had to think of creative characters and design them as per our story  line.

It is a very interesting topic and I am super excited to see my final work. Making my own characters and story line will enhance my creativity and help me to get better ideas to work with. For our next class, we are supposed to finish our character sketching and the dialogue boxes.
