TIME- WEEK 11

Date: 15th March, 2019

We continued with our mind maps in today’s class. As our group members were busy with other internship programs, we couldn’t finalize our work.

We finished almost all the mind maps and watched the movies which we hadn’t. We then finally put our mind maps on an A3.

Our teacher told us the next step which is to find the common ideas in all the movies with the help of mind maps we have made and then finally we can prepare a skit, video or whatever we like to present our thought.

SUSTAINABILITY SYSTEMS- WEEK 11

Date: 14th March, 2019

Today, we went in search of NGOs for our project. We had selected one before but it turned out to be a girls NGO and the guy member is our group wasn’t allowed to enter.

So today we went in search of an NGO where we could conduct our activities.

We did find one but it still has to be finalized.

INTEGRATIVE STUDIO II- WEEK 10

Date: 12 March, 2019

In today’s class, we were asked to make a mind map on components and parts of our own discipline. As I have chosen Interior Design as a subject of my interest, I made a mind map on that.

I divided it into eight parts: Lights, Color, Texture, Pattern, Space, Line, Forms and Furniture. I then broke each category  further.

Our teacher as now asked us to find what grabs our interest the most in the mind map that we have made.

INTEGRATIVE SEMINAR II- WEEK 10

Date: 12th March, 2019

In today’s class, we were supposed to sit according to our disciplines and discuss the mind maps with the people from same discipline.

Our teacher then came to the groups individually and discussed about our disciplines and asked us about our particular interests in it.

She then asked us to review our mind maps and add information if required.

Our teacher has asked us to write a 350 – 500 word essay on “Parts of a Whole”,
focusing on small element of your journey from home to school in terms of your discipline of choice. It must be printed and in a simple font.

TIME- WEEK 10

Date: 8th March, 2019

In today’s class, our teacher reviewed our mind maps and explained us why the movies were made in a certain way back in those days. She asked to notice those parts which brings a doubt in our mind or a state of confusion and then think about the changes we can bring to it according to today’s movies.

As of now, she has asked to watch all seven movies and complete all seven mind maps along with the reactions of group members by next class.

After the review, we watched movies in group and the movie which we covered in today’s class was “Mela.”

Even though the olden movies are boring to watch, we have fun discussing about it and taking out the mistakes and differentiating from today’s movies.

SUSTAINABILITY SYSTEMS- WEEK 10

Date: 7th March, 2019

In today’s class, our teacher reviewed our modules and gave his suggestions and inputs. We told him about the various activities that we have planned for the NGO people and how we are going about it.

He then informed us about our upcoming deadlines and assignments that we are supposed to get done by the 15th week.

In the second half, we left for the NGO to enquire and get information.

I am really excited for this project.

INTEGRATIVE SEMINAR- WEEK 9

Date: 5th March, 2019

In today’s class we discussed about design. What is design all about and what is it used for. It is a perception of an individual to make or create and for user XP purpose. We discussed about where all design is used in our daily life and activities.

We then took door as an object and broke it down. Like doors have handles, stoppers, CCTV etc. Same way, we had to list out things for other objects from leaving home till college. This will further help us in our studio project.

We also discussed about how designers are supposed to keep the needs and wants of public in mind and create a particular thing or an object.

It was a fun learning class and this will also help us to choose a particular discipline.
