Week 3: Light and Interaction.

Date: 24th January, 2020

In today’s class, we learned about texture. Texture is the appearance or feel of a surface. Textures can create variety and interest in a room.

There are two types of textures:

Tactile: texture you can feel by rubbing your hand over it.

Visual: texture that is not real.

We also learned how texture can communicate different feelings in a room and how texture affects the the visual size and colour of an object.

Our teacher then gave us an activity, in which we had to get 20 textures on A5 size paper from around the campus by using crayons. This way we got a lot of visual textures by the end of the class and we could discuss on it for a better understanding.

For the next class, we are supposed to get 40 textures and we have to take a print out of the room and use 7 textures in different places.
