In today’s class, we continued with our project work. We divided all our work as it was a group activity. We were supposed to come up with 5 different ideas on the common element which we found in all 7 movies.

The common element which we found is “Death.” We can prepare a skit, video, presentation or whatever we like to represent that element.

After ma’am explained, we discussed in our groups and penned down few ideas. We then decided that each one of us would come up with one idea in the group by next class.

Soon after finishing mind maps, ma’am asked us to choose “Parts of a Whole” as in a part from our field of interest. It could any object or any part. We were then supposed to research on that particular part. For example: A door.

Before I could finalise a part from my field of interest which is interior designing, I did a lot of research and selected the best and which grabbed my interest.

Our teacher gave us the guidelines for essay writing on the topic, “Designer’s influence on design.” She explained us as to how we are supposed to go about it in detail. We are supposed to write an essay in 1500 words. Since its a picture essay, we need to attach pictures too related to our inquiry question.

Once we decide our inquiry questions, we discussed it with our teacher for her to approve it. My inquiry question is that, “ how does Indian culture influence the design outcome?” I researched a lot and came up with a 1500 word essay for 15th week review.

I explored and learned a lot through this assignment and subject. Especially,  I grabbed a lot of knowledge from it and of course, our writing skills improves the more we write and put our own ideas into it. This subject also helped me to choose my field of design.

Today we went for our ngo project and conducted various activities. The children were really enthusiastic and excited. We taught them on water crisis and we had a lot of fun.

In today’s class, we were working on our brochure.

As we completed the basic layout of the brochure, we were working on the data collected from our first ngo session. We also worked on the front cover of the brochure.

It is fun making the brochure and also because it is a group activity, we get a lot of ideas all together.

In today’s class, we were asked to discuss our layouts and contents with our group  members. We then showed our idea to our teacher and he gave us his inputs and suggestions.

We then selected one layout and started to  improvise on it. Side by side, we were also looking for the contents to be put on the layout. We have to include the research that we are doing in the sustainability systems class.

Its fun to work on the brochure of our own. I am sure by the end of the fifteenth week, we will make an amazing one!
